The Clean Mobility Options for Disadvantaged Communities program, a program of the California Air Resources Board, has $20 million available in state funding for clean mobility options. This program is funded by the Low Carbon Transportation Investments (cap-and-trade), which funds a suite of equity incentive and voucher programs. The purpose of this program is to provide state funding for zero-emission car-sharing, ride-sharing, bike-sharing, and innovative public transit projects in California’s disadvantaged communities statewide.
If you are working on bringing bike-share, scooter-share, or micromobility services to your disadvantaged or low-income community but haven’t seen any investment yet, this is your chance! Up to $1 million is available for each project that is approved. The program’s administrator, CALSTART, will start accepting applications in early 2020. Funding is first-come, first-serve, and applications submitted would need to meet minimum criteria to qualify.
To find out more information on how to access funding for your community, watch our webinar recording of “How to Access State Funding for Bike-Share and Micromobility” or visit the Clean Mobility Options website.
If you have specific questions that we can answer about the program or application process, please submit them here.
