COMPLETE STREETS SUPPORTERS
A Powerful Coalition
The Complete Streets for Active Living Bill (SB 127) will ensure that state-owned roads that are also local streets will serve local communities. Complete Streets supporters come from a broad spectrum of advocacy groups. They recognize that this bill will benefit bicycle riders, walkers, seniors, children, wheelchair users, transit riders, and many other Californians.
Many Californian cities have added bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly elements to their streets, but the streets that the Department of Transportation (Caltrans) controls are not keeping up. The Complete Streets for Active Living Bill will mandate that Caltrans include Complete Streets features when they repave or repair a roadway that they control.
Thanks to Complete Streets supporters, including CalBike members, SB 127 has momentum in the 2019 legislative session. With your continued support, we’ll get this important bill signed into law this year!
